A children's book describing 26 different cries heard in New York, mostly those of street vendors selling their wares. Illustrated with a wood engraving vignette for each different crier.
Bookplate pasted inside front cover reads "library of Herbert Barber Howe" in engraved script. Handwritten note on bookplate reads "Dec. 1955, from Fletcher W. Judson's library." Handwritten note on inside front cover reads "Olive Atwood's book Woodbury."
