Identification on verso (handwritten): Sargent [sic] W.T., Mather Field Ca., painting on aircraft, 1944. Photograph shows Thiebaud painting a cartoon on the side of a plane. The cartoon depicts a mouse, standing on the back of an eagle, throwing missiles at the ground. Another serviceman is seated next to Thiebaud, pointing at the cartoon and smiling.
