Summary:
Biographical material; correspondence; writings; exhibition checklists; exhibition invitations; appraisal information; clippings and reviews; and photographs relating to Robinson's career as an artist. Included are a letter from the St. Louis World's Fair Department of Art signaling aceptance of works by Robinson, 1904; certificates of acceptance of Robinson's artwork in exhibitions in France, ca. 1906; and photographs of Robinson.
The Hapgood family collection includes letters responding to news of Robinson's death from Louis Carnegie, and Archer M. Huntington, 1937; letters reflecting Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood's efforts to exhibit or place Robinson's work in museums and galleries, among them the California Place of the Legion of Honor, 1939, Tate Museum, 1960, and the Worcester Art Museum, 1960, among others. Included are photocopies of an unpublished honors thesis "Florence Vincent Robinson, The Odyssey of a Woman Artist," 1982, and of card catalog entries of Robinson's watercolors acquired by the Hispanic Society of American in New York, 1922.

Biography Note:
Robinson was a painter, primarily a watercolorist; New York, N.Y. and Petersham, Mass. b. 1874. d. 1937. Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood (d. 1974) is the daughter of Robinson's longtime companion, Margaret Reynolds (from ca. 1916-1937).
Provenance:
Donated 2003 by David Hapgood, the son of Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood. The papers were compiled by Robinson as well as her executor, Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood, Hapgood's daughter, Elizabeth Hapgood Backman, and son, David Hapgood.
