UNMICROFILMED: A passport; correspondence; a scrapbook, 1929-1954; exhibition catalogs and anouncements; clippings from Venezuelan and Tennessee newspapers and other printed material; photographs and negatives of works by art; photographs of Biel-Bienne and his wife, Hertha Maria Biel; correspondence regarding the French-American Art Institute; drafts of his unpublished memoir, "Close to the Exit," (1967) and drafts of his short stories; photocopies of correspondence between Biel-Bienne and his wife, Mary Biel, and Hilla Rebay, 1943-1955; and miscellany.
Papers concerning the administration of the Biel-Bienne estate and the distribution of his works of art consist of correspondence, tax returns and other legal and financial records. Most of the letters are from the executor, Robert A. Baldwin, and Martha Ertl, sister-in-law of Biel-Bienne.
REEL 5042: Card index of art work, containing approximately 3, 075, 5x7 cards cataloging works of art by Biel-Bienne in his estate, prepared by his executors in the early 1970s. Each card includes a b&w photograph of the work, title, medium and support, date, exhibition history, and information about the signature, collection, location, and other reproductions.

Donated 1995 by Paul Harmon, friend of Biel-Bienne and co-executor of his estate, except for the card index on reel 5042 which was lent for microfilming.
