Summary:
Film out-takes and sound reels with transcripts created in the making of Neff's documentary, "Beatrice Wood: Mama of Dada" (Wild Wolf Productions, 1992). The final documentary is also included in video. The original negative film includes workprint out-takes (transparencies made from the negative); 130 boxes of original camera negative; 1/4 inch sync sound tapes of the dialog; and complete transcripts of all the dialog totaling 400 pages.
The film documents the career of Beatrice Wood and her involvement with the New York circle of Dadaists including Marcel Duchamp, Walter and Louise Arensberg, and Henri Pierre Roche. Among the persons interviewed are Francis Nauman, Anne d'Harnoncourt, Steven Watson, Lee Waisler, Ram Pravesh Singh, John Perrault, Garth Clark, and Ruppert Pole. Wood talks about her youth, her relationships with men, her ceramics, the Armory Show, Marcel Duchamp, soirees at the Arensberg home, Dada, the effects of World War I, the Blindsman Ball, and Gertrude and Otto Natzler.
