Letters, 1931-1948, to Simkhovitch from museums, galleries, publishers, art organizations, admirers, and others regarding his work, and condolence letters to Mrs. Simkhovitch, 1949; contracts, mailing lists, and other business records regarding his association with the Midtown Galleries, 1931-1948; a scrapbook of clippings and other printed material regarding Simkhovitch's work and exhibitions, 1940-1941; printed material, including clippings, reproductions of paintings, and exhibition catalogs, 1931-1987; and photographs of Simkhovitch in his studio, his paintings, and exhibition installations.

Biography Note:
Painter; Connecticut. Born in Russia. Came to U.S. in 1924 and settled in Greenwich, Conn.
Donated by Naomi Rottman, daughter of Simka Simkhovitch, in 1989, via Janet Marqusee, of Janet Marqusee Fine Arts, Ltd., author of exhibition catalog on Simkhovitch.
