81 illustrated letters, all but three to Emma Louise Klotz, regarding Church's daily activities and his paintings, 1893-1923. Two of the letters are to Klotz's cousin, Mrs. B. N. Mitchell and one to "cousin Rebecca." Also included are 5 etchings and 21 photo-gravures mostly inscribed by Church to Mrs. B.N. Mitchell.

Frederick Stuart Church (1842-1924) was a painter in New York, N.Y. Church worked in oil, watercolor, and etching and specialized in animals. Emma Louise Klotz was one of his patrons.
Donated 1990 by Thomas Rothwell, whose mother was Klotz's aunt.
