Files on artists exhibiting at the gallery, business correspondence, an exhibition chronology, gallery press releases and exhibition announcements, a consignment file, artists' contracts, art inventories and price lists for art works.
The 53 artist files contain mostly printed materials such as resumes, exhibition announcements and reviews, press releases, and price lists. Some files also contain photographs and transparencies of art work and scattered correspondence. Artists include photographers Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Philippe Halsman, Helen Levitt, Joel Meyerowitz, Richard Misrach, and Barbara Morgan; painters and sculptors Helene Aylon, Herbert Bayer, Larry Bell, Joseph Hughes, Phillis Ideal, Glen Jampol, Craig Kauffman, Claude Kent, Jay McCafferty, David Mackenzie, John Okulick, Margit Omar, and Gregg Renfrow.

The Grapestake Gallery, opening with an Ansel Adams' retrospective in 1974, was established by Ursula Gropper, Thomas V. Meyer and their father, Otto Meyer, retired board chairman of Paul Masson Vineyards. Grapestake, which closed in 1984, was located at 2876 California Street, San Francisco, California. Exhibitions concentrated on contemporary California painters, sculptors and 20th century American photographers.
