Seventeen letters, 1943-1979, including 2 from Van Wyck Brooks; a list of gifts to the Butler Institute including "Backyard" by Kruckman; a 1 p. biographical sketch; 3 sketchbooks and 32 cartoons for NEW MASSES and other New Deal era publications, 1935-1939; clippings, 1928-1990; reproductions of art works, primarily from book HOL' UP YO' HEAD; exhibition announcements and catalogs, 1937-1972; a press release; miscellaneous brochures, 1943-1976; and 15 photographs of art works.

Biography Note:
Cartoonist, author, illustrator; New York, N.Y. Studied at the Art Students League and began drawing a comic strip "Happy Hunch" in 1926.
Donated by Herb Kruckman in 1976 and 1979, and by his son Russell Kruckman in 1991.
