Biography Note:
Painter; New York and Giverny, France. Studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League, New York City. At the turn of the 20th century, he moved to France and became a leading American Impressionist painter.
Provenance:
Loaned in 1968 and 1983 by Mrs. Kenton Kilmer (Frances Friseke) and her son Nicholas Kilmer, Frieseke's daughter and grandson. The notebook was found in Frieseke's library.
