Hatch was a painter, lecturer, teacher and printer. She was director of the Tarrytown (N.Y.) Art Center in 1940. She moved from New York to the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas.
The donor, Don Lewis, operated Auslew Gallery, Norfolk, VA, which showed Emily Hatch's work.
