Papers of Miles Chappell, largely relating to John Gutzon and Arthur Strauss exhibitions at the College of William and Mary. Included are: correspondence with John Gutzon, Gutzon's notes on his collection, catalog cards, photographs, exhibition catalogs, and clippings; Chappell's notes and photographs relating to the "Arthur Strauss and the German Expressionists" exhibition held at the College of William and Mary in 1978, and the catalog for the exhibit; and miscellaneous material on artists Thomas Elston Thorne, Ralph Della-Volpe, Olympia Zacchini, and Ruth Lapides, including printed material, correspondence, and resumes.
