Summary:
Biographical material; correspondence, art works; scrapbooks; writings; printed material; subject and teaching files; photographs; and glass negatives.
Correspondence is with family as well as one or more letters from Gutzon Borglum, Philip Martiny, Auguste Rodin, Bertha H. Palmer and others. Art work includes sketches and a sketchbook. Three scrapbooks contain clippings, photographs, letters and memorabilia, 1892-1927. Printed material includes exhibition catalogs and announcements, 1903-1982; and a photographic reproduction of a printed advertisement for the exhibition of Yandell's sculpture Pallas Athena, being shown at the Tennessee Centennial International Exposition in Paris, France, 1897. Also found are price lists; a typescript of a lecture; Branstock School teaching material; a file on Yandell's "Daniel Boone"; and photographs of Yandell, her Paris and N.Y. studios, Philip Martiny, Frederick MacMonnies, Daniel Chester French, Elihu Vedder, Lorado Taft's studio, Yandell's friend, Geysa de Bravnecker, and works of art. Glass negatives consist of two showing the interior of Yandell's studio, 11 of Yandell at work in her studio, and 35 of her works.

Provenance:
All but the glass negatives was lent for microfilming by Yandell's niece, Mrs. John J. Trask, in 1983, and subsequently turned over by Trask to the Filson Club, Louisville, Ky. Trask donated the glass negatives to AAA in 1986.
