Guglielmo Marconi, 1st Marquis of Marconi was an Italian inventor and electrical engineer, known for his pioneering work on long-distance radio transmission, development of Marconi's law, and a radio telegraph system.

Letter to Marconi's father Giuseppe originally sent with a copy of the contract establishing Marconi's company, discussing his personal finances, and mentioning a request from the British government to install a station at Dover and a public dispute with "Righi" (possibly former mentor Augusto Righi) and his friends, in which "capitano Malfatti" would write articles defending Marconi in the Italian press.
