Theodore Thomas Belote was Assistant Curator of the Division of History at the United States National Museum from 1906-1917 and was Curator of the division from 1917-1948. His official retirement date was June 30, 1949, and he passed away on December 1, 1953.
This image was taken by Ruel P. Tolman, former Director of Smithsonian National Collection of Fine Arts and is included in a scrapbook of photographs of Smithsonian staff, grounds and buildings, exhibitions, and Washington, D.C., scenes (Section B).
