Summary:
A working pendulum sculpture installed at the entrance to the Moreno Valley Mall. On the south side of the pendulum there are panel that are covered in holographic material (diffraction gratings) that produce a colorful optical illusion from the sunlight as the pendulum swings back and forth. A blue light is visible at the top of the pendulum during the night. At the base there is a line from Umberto Eco's book, "Foucault's Pendulum," which reads: "The Earth turned in her sleep and traded one surface for another."
