Summary:
A Civil War soldier stands with his proper left leg slightly forward, holding the barrel of his rifle in front of him, proper left hand over proper right hand. The rifle butt rests in front of his proper right foot. He is dressed in a cap and a hip-length, belted jacket which is buttoned to the neck and collar. A knife and canteen are attached to the proper left side of his belt. The sculpture is mounted on a tapered base.
