Tall, free-standing gateway constructed of blocks of coral stone. Both sides of the portal opening in the gateway are flanked by columns on each side of the doorway. The top of the gateway is arched and comes to a gabled point. On the front and back facade of the gateway, above the portal, is a high relief carving of an eagle with wings widespread and head thrust forward. The eagle stands on a globe. Below the globe is an open book. Garlands of foliage hang on either side of the book. The gateway stands on a multi-stepped circular base made of coral stone in the center of a plaza.
