Summary:
An abstract fountain sculpture, dedicated to the children of the world, consists of five two-dimensional figurative elements faced with reliefs in copper sheet metal. The elements are placed on a platform faced with granite around a circular pool with a fountain in the center. Each element is structurally identical and resembles the silhouette of a child, with three extensions, or "arms" on each side, and a circular form, or "head" affixed to a post at the top. The five figurative elements represent the five continents of the Olympics. The reliefs on the figurative elements encompass 20 independent, abstract compositions and recount the physical and spiritual world of children through the depiction of children in various sports activities. On top of a post in the center of the pool is a sphere that sprays water. The sphere is adorned with relief images of animals and stars.
