Summary:
A sarcophagus supported on a base. Black handles shaped like wreaths, made of brass or bronze, are located on the sides and end of the monument. Military mementos lay across the bier: a coat, flag, hat, belt and sword. Lettering denoting various Civil War battles is carved into the folds of the coat and flag draped across the top. Memorial lettering is carved around the sides and end of the bier.
