Summary:
The monument consists of an inscribed obelisk mounted on a square, two-stepped base. On the front of the obelisk, over an inscription panel, is a raised shield of the United States and crossed sabers of the Cavalry. On the three others sides, there is a raised star over an inscription panel. On the ground around the base of the monument there are cannons which radiate from each corner of the base.
