HE WAS HELD/CAPTIVE FOR 9 YEARS ON THE "RIVER OF/NUTS" WHERE HE HAD AMPLE OPPORTU-/NITY TO OBSERVE THE GROWTH AND/FRUITING HABITS OF PECANS. Summary:
A large pecan framed with steel rods, 3/4 in. channel iron and metal lath, and covered with stucco. The color is a base of coppers, with cement color added. The pecan lies on its side on a tiered base of cement. On the front of the base is a plaque with a raised seal of the Texas Pecan Growers Association. A wooden sign on two posts stands above the sculpture.
