The file is limited to employees who, in 1965, were no longer working for the department. Mostly the material concerns appointments, promotions, terminations, grants, and details. There is little concerning the employee's careers outside the department and many of the files are quite incomplete. Included are folders for Richard A. Allen, John E. Angelim, John Leonard Baer, Betty E. Baker, William H. Bray, Joseph R. Caldwell, Immanuel Moses Casanowicz, Donovan L. Clark, Frances Densmore, William H. Egberts, Marcus Solomon Goldstein, Marjorie Halperin, Paul Haupt, Edwin H. Hawley, Willard Williams Hill, Walter Hough, Ales Hrdlicka, G. Carroll Lindsay, George Grant MacCurdy, Phillip Ainsworth Means, Riley D. Moore, Marshall Thornton Newman, Frank Maryl Setzler, Ralph Stephan Solecki, Matthew Williams Stirling, C. Malcolm Watkins, and Joseph E. Weckler.
There are photographs of Casanowicz, Hough, Setzler, and of William H. Bray and Egberts engaged in preparator's work. In the material for Newman, there are memoranda of T. Dale Stewart concerning the director of physical anthropology at the Smithsonian. The folders for Setzler include materil relating to his travel for archeological purposes with some reports on the trips. The folder for Solecki includes letters written while he was working at Shanidar, Iraq.
