Percy Bernard Eckhart was born in 1877 in Lake Forest, Illinois and died in 1969 in Lake Placid, New York. He studied at the University of Chicago and Harvard Law School. He was a lawyer including being legal counsel for the Art Institute of Chicago, a prolific oil painter and supporter of the arts.

Footage of visits to historic homes, universities, churches and gardens, including the University of Virginia, Monticello, Mt. Vernon, and Woodrow Wilson's birthplace in Staunton, Virginia. Other filming locations include Wellington, Belmont, Chatham, Shirley, Westover, and Williamsburg.
