Summary:
For this short documentary, the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative interviewed friends, colleagues, and students of Washington, D.C. performer and youth advocate Melvin Deal, founder of African Heritage Dancers and Drummers. Through his summer youth programs and in his studio, Deal introduced young people to African dance and drumming since 1968. Deal lived in Wards 7 and 8 of southeast Washington, D.C.
