Summary:
Families who have never celebrated Kwanzaa as well as those who have made it a part of their annual holiday festivities were invited to participate in this workshop. Kwelismith, winner of the 1991Mayor's Arts Award as Emerging Artist, taught orignal Kwanzaa songs. Storyteller Marvel Abayoni-Cole discussed the symbols and Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. A craft project and candlelighting were also included in the workshop.
