The 22nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Program, hosted by the Anacostia Community Museum, featured spoken word artists The Last Poets, Amiri Baraka, and the DC Writers Corp who provided social commentary to provoke social change. Spoken word artist Laini Mataka served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. The performances were followed by a panel discussion, a question-and-answer period, and a book signing. The program was held on January 11, 2007 in the Baird Auditorium of the National Museum of Natural History.
