Summary:
Austin Moore Brues (1906-1991) was U.S. physician who traveled to Japan to study bomb victims; in 1947, he was Director of Biological and Medical Research, Argonne National Laboratory. Edward Uhler Condon (1902-1974) was a pioneer in quantum mechanics, and in 1945 had just been appointed head of the U.S. National Bureau of Standards.
