Television broadcast produced by CBS News and narrated by Bill Cosby presents the history of Black men's participation in the United States armed forces. Film traces the Black soldier's role in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, both World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Also examined are attitudes towards the Black soldier from George Washington's day to Truman's integration of the armed services.
