An allegorical piece, representing AMERICA, after having suffered the several evils of the late American war, is lamenting the death of those brave officers who fell in the glorious cause of FREEDOM. A beautiful female figure of America is weeping at the MONUMENT of WARREN, MONTGOMERY, MERCER, and WOORSTER--heroes lost in preserving LIBERTY, CONCORD, INDUSTRY, and PLENTY, which form a group of elegant figures, expressive. PEACE, and ships denote the happy effects of commerce in a free country.--This is a large and elegant painting, executed by the late ROBERT E. PINE, and valued at 1000 dollars. [Pp. 118-119.]
