This picture possesses many claims to admiration, in reference to the boldness of handling, freedom and grace of Design, and richness of color. It is full of spirit and animation. Free from imitation this artist struck out a bold path for himself, and has left a style peculiarly his own for the admiration of future ages. He is always clear, expressive and striking. His works are, at the present day, purchased with great avidity on the continent. This specimen of his best powers is from the gallery Capponi. $1,000. [P. 17.]
