Description:
This Prominent Americans Issue stamp depicts Eugene O’Neill, an Irish-American playwright. After expulsion from Princeton University, O’Neill spent several years working on a seaman aboard ships. While he was being treated for tuberculosis at a sanatorium, he became to write plays. Four of his plays won the Pulitzer Prize. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1936.
