Notes:
Belt made of 6 strands of braided cotton. Patch (pendant) web made of scleria seeds and large gray seeds with 10 dangles ending in white, green, black and red feathers, plus down. Cotton tassels on either side of pendant. Urucued. Dr. Newton says this was obtained from Pohu, a 34 y/o male, and made by Mupao, a 53 y/o. Unused. Is called a kangukohe. Belt consists of half round, some square cord made with a 3 or 4 strands of 2z cotton in 6 continuous loops. 2z cotton tassels. Urucu stained at intervals around belt and on tassels. Cordage is 2z tucum/caroa. Beads: scleria/aku, Job's Tears. Parrot feathers [see expert remarks]. Price paid: 10 crs.
White Hawk, Leucopternis albicollis (8 black/white body feathers); Red-and-Green Macaw, Ara chloroptera (small green and green/red feathers); undetermined Parrot, Amazona sp. (1 green body feather); undetermined bird, unknown (6 white body feathers).
