FROM CARD: "MODEL OF A DRUM. HARRY HAYES OR (TISH KA ILPIPL) A NEZ PERCE INDIAN SUPERINTENDENT OF SUNDAY SCHOOL IS THE AUTHORITY FOR NAME OF A DRUM, 1 HEAD, RATTLE AND FLAGEOLET. THE SHELL IS THE COVER OF A CIRCULAR TIN BOX. OVER THE FLAT TOP IS STRETCHED A PIECE OF BUCKSKIN LEATHER. ON THE BACK THE EDGES ARE GATHERED WITH A PUCKERING THONG. TWO THONGS CROSS AT THE BACK FROM EDGES OF THE LEATHER AT NEARLY A RIGHT ANGLE. INVENTORIED 1975."
