From card: "The frame consists of a flat board, on one side of this is placed a U-shaped piece of board 3" wide, within this the child is placed. There is also a U-shaped piece of wood 10 1/4" high which is placed at the top of the cradle to support the shade for the child. To this are attached buckskin thongs which have tied to them beads, brass bells and horn rattles."
Per Elizabeth DeNike, 6-2-2011, the technique of manufacture of the long narrow strips of beadwork attached to the cradle is bias weave (sometimes called side stitch).
