IN HIS BOOK "PIONEERING IN CENTRAL AFRICA" (RICHMOND, 1903) ON PP. 311-312, VERNER MENTIONS BUYING A CARVED STICK SUCH AS THIS AT A TOWN IN THE VICINITY OF NDOMBE (THE MISSION STATION) IN KUBA COUNTRY."
