From card: "An iron chain. links 8 to 12 cm. long, 2.5 to 3 cm. wide. An arm or ankle ring 8 cm. diam. is at one end, hinged neck ring 14 cm. diam. loose on chain. Kasongo is a town near the Lualaba River at about 4 degrees, 25 minutes S., 26 degrees, 40 minutes E. It is mentioned as an Arab station in 1876 in Henry M. Stanley, Through the Dark Continent, vo. 2 (London, 1878), p. 123. 11/13/66: loaned to Cult. Hist. (MHT), returned 2/13/81. Loaned to NMAH-Life in America 10-29-84."
