L-1339 (Ste. Genevieve Chert):
STE. Genevieve is also known as Airport, Boyle, Camden, Cedar Valley, Cochrane, Coffee, Creek, Falls, Fredonia, Kentucky Blue, Marble Hill, Mammoth Cave, Munfordville, Root Beer, Root River, Scipio, Solon, Sonora. It has a light brown to dark red, light gray to dark blue chert. It has a smooth texture. Deposits include nodular and bedded: 5-15 cm thick. SEE ALSO: AIRPORT, BOYLE, CAMDEN, COCHRANE, CEDAR VALLEY.
Geology remarks: Epoch- Mississippian, Form- St. Genevieve Limestone
Location remarks: Outcrops approx. 2 km west of Columbia, Monroe Co., Indiana; Illinois
Archaeology remarks: Kimmswick Clovis site, 32 km south of St. Louis in Jefferson Co., MO
