This is a paper shopping bag used for Palm Inc. products. Palm Incorporated got its start in 1992 by Jeff Hawkins. When he first started the company, he designed software that was used in various other computing devices. He wanted to design his own personal digital assistant (PDA), but he lacked the resources to do so. In 1995, he sold the company to U.S. Robotics who was in a better position to put his product on the market. U.S. Robotics released the Palm Pilot in 1996 to much acclaim. It was originally designed to be used in conjunction with a computer and had four basic functions – a calendar, contacts list, to do function and memo list. In 1997, 3Com acquired U.S. Robotics and the Palm Pilot. The PDA went through various iterations over the years, gradually expanding its functionality. Unfortunately, the Palm Pilot was not able to match pace with Apple’s iPhone nor the proliferation of Android phones in the late 2000’s and the Palm products became irrelevant in today’s market (2015).
