Kuba men use woven bags such as this on their hunting trips to hold meat and other forest products. Two inverted "pockets" that fit one within the other create the distinctive sliding lid form, which allows the interior pocket to expand while it prevents the contents from spilling out. Kuba artists tend to add decorative geometric patterns to a range of objects.
