Description:
A stock certificate, number [2469] for nine shares of the Mound Bayou Oil Mill and Manufacturing Company, issued to Frank Daniel on January 18, 1911 for $1.00 per share. The certificate is on cream colored paper surrounded by an elaborate green border. Beneath the top, left corner of the border is an image of two men surrounded by cotton plants, hauling baskets of cotton, a man picking cotton and a woman carrying a basket of cotton on her head. In the distant background the in another man picking cotton, a barn with animals and a steamboat, on a river in the far distance. Beneath the top, right corner of the border is an image of several stacked sacks, the top sack has [LINTERS] printed on the side. And leaning against the stacked sacks are two more sacks, one printed with [COTTON / SEED / HULLS FOR / STOCK / FEED] printed on the front and a second one with [COTTON / SEED / MEAL] lying flat on the ground in front of a barrel that has [CRUDE / COTTON / SEED / OIL] printed on one end of the barrel. The sacks and barrel are bordered on the right with two cotton bolls on stems with leaves. The certificate is signed via stamp by A.A. Casey, Secretary and Isaiah Montgomery, President.
