She is leaning slightly forward with her proper right hand resting just below her proper right shoulder and her proper left hand splayed just below her chin. Her head is turned towards the left side of the image and her chin is tilted slightly upwards. She is wearing a black, low cut garment, metallic colored high heeled shoes, and has a white flower tucked in her shoulder length hair. The rest of the image is in dark shadows. The photographer’s mark, printed in the negative in the bottom left corner reads, [Bloom / CHICAGO]. There is an inscription in blue ink at the bottom right quadrant of the image that reads, [To Laurie / Who’s / Undecided / Why I’ll / never know / Love / Catherine].
