Abstract:
The field diary documents the work of Harald Rehder aboard the yatch "Mareva" for the Smithsonian-Bredin Society Islands Expedition, March 17-May 26, 1957. The diary is comprised of narrative style entries that are dated and contain travel preparations and details, personal thoughts and observations, interactions with colleagues, field observations, habitat, specimen collecting including the use of rotenone, photographs taken, observations of local communities, weather, sailing conditions, and anchorages.
