The volume documents the field work of Paul Bartsch during the Albatross Philippine Expedition, for the dates: April 21 - August 1908. Entries are dated and narrative in structure. They contain notes in the margin highlighting content relating to topics like location or type of wildlife. Entries describe ship movements, observations of wildlife, weather and temperature, daily work and activities (sometimes with time of day). There are entries organized by what appears to the station number (D.5232) that contains information about location, readings relating to water conditions, and wildlife present. Contains hand drawn maps with notations. Also includes tables of barometric and thermometric readings. Locations include but are not limited to the vicinity of Manila, Luzon, and Mindanao in the Philippines.
