Abstract:
Photographs document Alexander Wetmore's time in Spain in 1930. He came to collect specimens of birds for the US National Museum (USNM). During the same trip he attended the VII International Ornithological Congress in Amsterdam. Sites include Puente de los Fierros, Oviedo, Puerto de Pajaro, Busdongo, Riano, Sierra del Ponton. Subject matter includes villages of the region, individual residences, rivers, mountain ranges, bridges, forests, valleys, and local landmarks.
