This journal contains field notes Bartsch took in Cuba from 7-12 June 1916 on snails (family Helicinidae and perhaps others) collected and birds seen. Lists of birds are included throughout the journal. Many blank pages follow the last journal entry, followed by a bird list with Florida locations, which starts from the back of the book. Localities include but are not limited to Peña Blanca, Rio Hondo, and La Mula in Cuba, and the Florida Keys in the United States.
