Description:
Design for an undersea lounge seen in exterior perspective and section elevation. Above, exterior perspective shows sandy shoreline with palm trees and International-Style building at left; in body of water, central round platform appears to float with smaller, secondary platform with diving board and figures below at left. Three white, parabolic structures sit on main platform and provide shelter for a bar and bandstand; one of these hung with red-and-white striped curtains, which also act as the wind sail of a catamaran at front of platform. Figures stroll or lounge in deckchairs. Below, section elevation shows deck platform as well as lounge below sea level. Submarine space consists of upper level with service facilities below which a main floor with mezzanine are occupied by figures and accessed by floating spiral staircase at center. Windows look out onto green under-seascape, illuminated by flood lights at left and right. Floating platform, at left, provides additional underwater illumination. Water’s surface rendered in green.
