Description:
Interlaced circles or "Seven-treasures" (shippo) is an appropriation of older motifs. Shippo is an auspicious design which is a popular motif on women's kimonos, primarily worn in times of need of good luck, such as weddings and new year's. Drill punching and pull carving have been applied to create this detailed motif. There is a bit of staining located near the bottom of the image.
