Description:
Recto: Romans battling within an arena. A man lies dead at center left, with three others standing over him. Hannibal watches from a viewing box at left. His elephant is at right, confronted by a fourth soldier. An elephant trunk is roughly outlined on the ground below. In the right background are fighting soldiers at the entrance to the street. Multiple inscriptions throughout indicating corrections to be made.
Verso: Italian inscription relating to Pliny the Elder's Natural History, Book 8, chapter 7.
