Biographical History:
Brian Kensley (1944-2004) was a research Zoologist at the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History. His primary area of study was systematics of decapod and isopod crustaceans. Kensley was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and earned his M.Sc. from the University of Stellenbosch, Ph.D. from University of Cape Town. He initially worked at the South African Museum in Cape Town, until 1977 when he came to the National Museum of Natural hIstory as apost-doctoral fellow, joining the department as staff, when Dr. Fenner A. Chace Jr. retired. Kensley conducted research at Smithsonian's Carrie Bow Cay Research Station in Belize, Aldabra, and the Seychelles.
